Kestral at RANZCR 2011

October 2011

Kestral is a regular exhibitor at The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists meetings and were in attendance at the Melbourne convention centre.

A number of staff manned a newly outfitted booth and caught up with long time clients and associates; as well as meeting new people from both the imaging industry and the profession. Other vendors and partners in attendance included representatives from Philips, GE, Intelerad, Voyager, Sectra, Carestream and McKesson.

This year, Kestral’s focus was on the company’s journey over 20 years of success from niche local imaging software developer in 1989 to its place today as Australia’s leading provider of intuitive, best of breed, radiology, pathology and HL7 solutions.

Business Development Manager, David Moran was in attendance and believes 2011 saw the highest attendance for some years. An estimated 1,400 people registered for the conference, including overseas contingents – a good sign for the Australian radiology industry as a whole.

David said of the conference,

"RANZCR provided us with an opportunity to meet up with radiologists during the conference breaks. Quite a few came to the Kestral booth to see the latest Karisma RIS developments. Besides looking at Kestral’s latest software functionality, clients were interested to understand where Kestral is going with new future products in the imaging market. Added to which the social evening events at night gave us the opportunity to mingle with people we hadn’t managed to catch with during the day.”

At the booth Kestral staff Lyn, Helen and Charbel showed Karisma to visitors, speech recognition demonstrations were held by the Director of Speech Solutions himself, Rafael Niesten and our own CEO Kevin Moynihan.

RANZCR is an ideal vehicle to showcase new advances in technology and the conference has enjoyed a great deal of success for this reason. Kestral would like to thank the organisers as well as our clients old and new who came and paid us a visit.
