Kestral Staff HL7 Certification
For some time now, Kestral has been dedicated to the development and implementation of HL7 and has been a regular contributor to various think tanks and general meetings such as the HL7 international Working Group Meeting (WGM) last year.
Grahame Grieve, recipient of the 2009 Don Walker Award for work on HL7 is a former employee and now consultant to Kestral. Our Technical Team Leader Angus in Perth and Support Consultant Jacque in Melbourne are both HL7 v2.6 certified, with Jacque also certified for HL7 CDA.
We are pleased to announce that we can now add Sarah, Melbourne Support Consultant to this illustrious list, with her certification as HL7 v2.7 Control Specialist achieved earlier this year. This is an outstanding achievement for Sarah, with the rate of successful certification not at all high – requiring a mark of 70% just to pass.
To attain certification, Sarah attended the HL7 Working Group meeting in May 2012 which was held in Vancouver, Canada at the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre Hotel. In attendance were a host of HL7 experts and mentors from all areas of Health, from clinical to finance, as well as first time attendees like Sarah.
Also in attendance was Grahame Grieve who has developed the next wave of HL7 called FHIR, or “Fire”. Grahame launched FHIR in Vancouver and Sarah tells us it created a distinct and amazing buzz around the WGM.
Kestral would like to congratulate Sarah on her outstanding achievement. Certification for HL7 is not easily accomplished. It is achievements such as Sarah's, which allow Kestral to maintain its commitment and dedication to HL7 and its expert community.
